England call up for Carvell

England have drafted Garreth Carvell into their squad for the 2010 Four Nations as a replacement for his injured Warrington Wolves team-mate Adrian Morley.

The 30-year-old prop boarded a flight to New Zealand from Manchester at 9.00pm on Sunday evening (BST) and is scheduled to join England at their hotel in Wellington on Tuesday afternoon.

Carvell had been a member of England’s train-on squad for the Four Nations and played in the England team that drew 18-all with Cumbria at Whitehaven two weeks ago.

Morley was forced to withdraw from the Four Nations after suffering a ruptured bicep in his right arm during England’s 18-all draw with the New Zealand Maori in Auckland on Saturday night.

He is expected to fly home to the UK for surgery later this week.
