State of Origin forward Dave Taylor has ended media speculation by confirming he is to be a Gold Coast Titans player next season.

Taylor, 23, is currently on Queensland duty and has put rumours of his future to bed so that he can concentrate on the Maroons.

It was announced in March that the forward nicknamed ‘Coal Train’ was to join the Titans from South Sydney Rabbitohs in a $1.6 million deal. However, financial problems at the Gold Coast club cast doubts over whether the deal would go ahead.

The former Brisbane Broncos man was quoted on news.com.au websites as saying, “I’m quite happy with my decision and I’m going to stick with it.”

Taylor has been selected on the interchange bench for the opening Origin game on May 23rd.
