Championship round-up: North Wales concede 100 AGAIN as London all-but lock in top spot

For the fifth time this season, North Wales Crusaders have conceded over 100 points in a single game – on a day when more Championship teams confirmed their spots in the play-offs.

The Crusaders have endured a miserable time of things in 2026. Having been forced through ownership issues and well-documented financial problems, they have been hammered on a number of occasions this year.

And that miserable record continued again on Sunday – with Doncaster the latest team to rack up a century of points.

North Wales concede 100 again

The Crusaders have already lost matched 134-0 and 106-18 to London Broncos in 2026. Batley Bulldogs defeated them 108-10 while Widnes Vikings won 116-6 against the team bottom of the Championship.

And now Doncaster have added their name to that roll of honour, winning 120-0 in South Yorkshire on Sunday afternoon.

Incredibly, 13 of the Dons’ 17 crossed for tries, with many of them scoring more than once. Hull KR loanee Harvey Horne scored a hat-trick with Miteli Vulikijapani getting a brace too.

Leading 54-0 at half-time, the Dons showed little in the way of sympathy for North Wales’ plight as they continued to rack up the points after half-time to solidify their spot inside the play-off places.

They are now fifth, and could yet finish as high as third going into the end-of-season play-offs if results go a certain way.

London all-but secure top spot

London also ran in another huge score on Sunday afternoon, with Jason Demetriou’s side coming close to scoring a century themselves in an eye-catching 92-6 win over Goole Vikings.

Alex Walker scored four of London’s tries as they continued their perfect league campaign with a 21st win from as many games.

Given their incredible points difference of 1,131, it means London have sewn up first place and the League Leaders’ Shield going into the play-offs. They can guarantee it next weekend with another win as the play-offs approach.

The battle for second looks set to go the wire after Newcastle Thunder and Oldham won in dramatic ways.

Newcastle were pushed all the way at Batley, ultimately emerging with a 28-24 win on what was a day of drama across the board in the second tier. That was evidenced further at Oldham, as Alan Kilshaw’s side won a thriller against Sheffield 31-30. Connor Bower’s penalty in the final minute looked to have forced a draw – before Josh Drinkwater scored a drop goal on the hooter to win it for the Roughyeds.

The drama continued elsewhere. Matty Chrimes scored in the final seconds for Midlands as they confirmed their place in the play-offs with a thrilling 30-24 triumph over Workington Town.

Ciaran Walker’s late conversion for Whitehaven proved to be the difference as they defeated Rochdale Hornets 24-22, with Whitehaven now having a three-point buffer inside the play-off places.

Barrow Raiders remain fourth after beating Halifax Panthers 28-20 at The Shay, with Keighley losing a West Yorkshire derby to Hunslet 32-18.
