Bradford Bulls primed for injury boost as Kurt Haggerty issues positive update ahead of Wigan Warriors clash
Bradford Bulls look set for a timely injury boost ahead of their Super League meeting with Wigan Warriors, head coach Kurt Haggerty has teased.
The West Yorkshire side are in the midst of a major injury crisis across their squad, most recently losing Guy Armitage for the rest of the season through a hamstring issue, but it seems they are set to welcome back some bodies when they take on second-placed Wigan at Odsal in round 23.
The extent of their injury crisis was reflected in their selection to face the Wire in round 22, with usual prop forward Ryan Sutton deployed in the back-row.

Bradford did also suffer some small scares in their 42-4 defeat to Warrington Wolves yesterday (Saturday, 8 August), with Loghan Lewis going off for a head injury assessment, but he later passed.
However, things could start to be easing on the injury front, with Haggerty hopeful they can welcome back some bodies for their round 23 meeting with Wigan.

“We’ll have Phoenix Steinwede back,” the Bradford boss told Sky Sports. “He got pulled by the RFL due to a head knock.
“We potentially have another two others, so fingers crossed.”
These potential returns will no doubt come as a timely boost in the immediate aftermath of their 42-4 loss on home soil, which Haggerty branded as one of their ‘poorest performances’ of the season.
“About 28 minutes in, we looked shot to pieces,” he reflected. “We needed half-time, so to go in at half-time respectable (on the scoreboard), I was pretty relieved.

“But I could see at half-time how tired we were and how much the lads put into the half. It’s a game where we ran out of steam.
“We had a lot of bodies missing, and we’ve got a lot of boys out there like Alfie Leake who got his second (Super League) game and Jamie Gill’s playing in his seventh or eighth game.
“We’ve done it tough there.”
