Kevin Locke heads to France

Former New Zealand international full-back Kevin Locke is set for a spell in France. (Stuff)

The 32-year-old will reportedly join French Elite 1 Championship side Carcassonne for next season. Locke has not played at the top level since leaving Wakefield in 2016. Locke made 18 appearances whilst in England with Salford and Wakefield. He won eight caps for the Kiwis between 2011-13.

Tyrone Roberts handed NRL chance

The 30-year-old has played in the lower grades Down Under since departing Gold Coast Titans in 2020. Tigers coach Michael Maguire has given Roberts a chance to play in the NRL again.

Touching words from Rob Burrow

Rob Burrow has sent a heartfelt message to his good friend Kevin Sinfield after the latter ran 101 miles in 24 hours in his latest fundraising challenge.

Speaking on BBC Breakfast, Burrow said: “Thank you so much to all involved with this event. The money raised will help people to get great facilities for a new care centre and to help the MND find a cure. Today is an amazing day for all the community and it will benefit every sufferer. Lastly to an amazing friend in Kev, you don’t realise the impact you have had on me and the whole MND community.”

Catalans recruitment update

The 29-year-old prop has made more than 170 appearances in the NRL for Sydney Roosters and Canterbury Bulldogs. He has represented Queensland seven times in the State of Origin arena and played for the Cook Islands at the 2013 World Cup.
