Oliver Davies signs contract extension with Sheffield

Sheffield have given back-rower Oliver Davies a new one-year contract.

The 23-year-old helped the Eagles lift the 1895 Cup at Wembley last season and has made 53 appearances for the club over the last two seasons.

Davies said: “I am buzzing to be staying on, I wouldn’t want to be going anywhere else.

“That first year was rocky to put it politely, that has been and gone – last year was probably the best year of rugby I’ve had.

“I thoroughly enjoyed myself, played with a smile on my face with the playing group that we had and I am looking forward to being a part of it next season.

“There’s not many more attractive places to play Championship rugby at the moment than Sheffield Eagles.”
