Matty Ashton and Ethan Havard named in fresh England Knights squad

Drew Darbyshire

England Knights coach Paul Anderson has invited 32 players to a gathering following the start of the season.

England’s senior squad and the Knights will get together at Old Trafford on March 23 for an initial gathering to outline their plans for the year ahead.

Warrington speedster Matty Ashton and Wigan prop Ethan Havard are fresh faces in the side, along with Huddersfield hooker Adam O’Brien.

Anderson said: “I’m very excited to be part of a new era for England Rugby League and eager to help Shaun (Wane) achieve the success that players and fans alike are desperate for.

“England Knights is an important part of the process and this is an opportunity for potential squad members to hear our plans first hand and understand how they can be a part of them.”
