Leigh have confirmed their next set of pre-match entertainment with local indie pop band Lottery Winners set to perform ahead of their derby with Wigan.

The Leigh-based band were put together for record label Modern Sky back in 2008. They will be performing at the Leigh Sports Village on Thursday, March 30 in Round Seven.

It’s the third band to perform in as many games, with owner Derek Beaumont delivering impressive entertaining since their return to Super League.

Scouting for Girls provided the entertainment ahead of their opening fixture against Salford in Round One.

English pop band T’Pau were next up, performing ahead of their fixture with world champions St Helens. And it set up a memorable night for the hosts, who went on to stun Paul Wellens’ side for a 20-12 victory at the Leigh Sports Village.

With IMG watching, Beaumont has delivered events for supporters to enjoy. And among those admiring the efforts is head coach Adrian Lam.

Leigh have enjoyed crowds of 8,589 and 7,743 so far this season against the Red Devils and Saints respectively.

He said: “When I park my car and walk into here it feels like I’m going to an event.

“People are going to laugh at this but the Leopard print at the front and the entertainment, it is an event that people are talking about every week.

“Credit to Derek on that. It has been set up really good for everyone in the town to come. Hopefully the crowds will keep getting bigger and bigger.”

Following the announcement, Lottery Winners shared on social media: “Very proud to be playing at the Leigh vs Wigan game at Leigh Sports Village!

“We’re proud to be from Leigh, and playing that stadium is going to be a dream!

“It’s also gonna be on Sky Sports and they’re put us playing on the telly! Exciting!”
