James Segeyaro will start at hooker for Papua New Guinea

Leeds Rhinos are sure that hooker James Segeyaro will stay at the club for the 2017 season.

Reports Down Under have linked the player with a move to several clubs, with the latest being Cronulla Sharks.

Rumours of homesickness have dogged the player, who originally joined on loan from Penrith Panthers in July 2016, before inking a two-year deal.

While there was a clause in the original contract which would have allowed the player to return to the NRL, if a club had made an offer for him, that clause has now expired.

“We don’t comment on speculation,” Rhinos spokesman Phil Daly said, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“However, it would be fair to say that James is contracted for the next two seasons and we are confident he will be with us until at least the end of the 2018 season.”
