Hayne fired up after Origin snub

Jarryd Hayne has vowed to bounce back after his shock omission from the New South Wales Origin squad.

The Eels fullback has revealed his disappointment at coach Ricky Stuart’s decision not to include him in the 17-man squad to face Queensland on May 25.

Instead, Stuart has placed his faith in Canberra flyer Josh Dugan for the clash at Suncorp Stadium.

Hayne had showed some signs of form during the NRL‘s early stages but was forced to serve a two-game suspension after head-butting Parramatta forward Nathan Hindmarsh in round six.

Speaking at Parramatta’s recovery session today, Hayne said: “It was tough for my name not to be read out but that’s life and I just have to move on.

“I’ve got to move on and focus on the Eels now and that’s my number one priority.”

The 23-year-old Australia international will have a chance to prove himself to Stuart when the Eels take on Cronulla in next Monday’s clash at Parramatta Stadium.
