Wakefield have signed London Broncos prop Eddie Battye on loan to the end of the season.

The 29-year-old former Sheffield Eagles player, who was prominent in the Broncos’ Super League campaign in 2019, has been inactive since March when the Championship season was curtailed and subsequently abandoned.

“I’ve kept myself ready throughout this period and I’m really excited to get the chance to get some minutes at Wakefield, a great and historic club,” Battye said.

“I enjoyed my year in Super League last year and I’m looking forward to playing in Super League once again.”

Wakefield coach Chris Chester said: “Eddie will boost our pack and give us some depth there with the games coming thick and fast.

“He showed what can do at Super League level with London last year and I’m looking forward to working with him for the remainder of 2020.”
