Wane told Daily Mirror: “We’re not going to get on the field so it’ll be an off-feet session again which is definitely not ideal. But unfortunately, the way games are going – and a few clubs have a big few weeks coming up – I’m trying to bend and do the best I can for Super League clubs.

Castleford request to drop Women’s team down a division

Castleford Tigers have made a formal request to the RFL to allow their Women’s team to drop down into Group Two of the Women’s Super League.

Head Coach Matty Faulkner told the club website: This move will give us the opportunity to build this whilst challenging our girls at a suitable level. They have worked extremely hard in such a short space of time to play against three strong teams in the Challenge Cup. After an honest reflection process, we feel that this is the best move for us and will make us stronger and sustainable in the long term.”
