Love Rugby League takes a look at the top 10 metre makers in Super League so far this season, which will be updated throughout 2024.

Love Rugby League will run more stats-led pieces in 2024 to help give you more of an insight into the game, and the top performers in Super League.

We’ve taken a look into the top metre makers following the opening 11 rounds of Super League action which makes for interesting reading. Without further ado, here are the top 10 metre makers in Super League 2024 (so far)..

10. Lachie Miller (Leeds – 1,384)

The Australian full-back is Leeds’ second top metre maker in 2024 thus far, averaging 138 metres per game whilst making 20 carries on average per game. Miller has also scored two tries and has five assists to his name.

9. Innes Senior (Castleford – 1,385)

The Castleford winger seems to be benefitting from getting a run of games under his belt, having been an ever-present for Craig Lingard’s side thus far. Ireland international Senior, who has scored 10 tries in 11 Super League appearances in 2024, has an average gain of 9.11 metres per carry.

8. Peta Hiku (Hull KR – 1,417)

The New Zealand international started the season at full-back for Hull KR, but has more recently been playing in his natural role of centre. Hiku, who has eight tries in 11 games, has an average gain of 8.34 metres per carry so far.

7. Tom Johnstone (Catalans – 1,471)

The England international has been an ever-present for the Dragons so far in Super League this season, scoring five tries and providing three assists. He is averaging 133 metres at the moment.

6. Ash Handley (Leeds – 1,494)

The Rhinos flier has been one of the form players in Super League this year. Handley, who has eight tries in nine games, is doing much more than just crossing the whitewash, he is averaging 17 carries and 166 metres per game.

5. Adam Swift (Huddersfield – 1,524)

The 31-year-old enjoyed a stellar individual campaign last season whilst at Hull FC, and he has carried his rich vein of form over to his new club Huddersfield. Swift, who has scored 11 tries in 10 Super League games, is averaging more than 152 metres per game.

4. Ryan Hall (Hull KR – 1,553)

Hall is the very definition of a modern day winger. It’s not just his try scoring ability, it’s everything he does in back-field and his carries out of yardage that will really please his coach Willie Peters. The Hull KR veteran, who will return to Leeds Rhinos in 2025, has made 210 carries so far, averaging 19 per game.

3. Nene Macdonald (Salford – 1,639)

The Papua New Guinea international has become an instant fan favourite amongst Salford’s supporters following his off-season arrival. Macdonald has been making metres for fun, with an average gain of 8.96 from his 183 carries so far.

2. Esan Marsters (Huddersfield – 1,662)

The Cook Islands international was in and out of the Huddersfield team last year – but he has started 2024 in terrific form. Marsters, who has four tries and five assists to his name in Super League 2024, is averaging 166 metres per match at the moment.

1. Matt Dufty (Warrington – 2,016)

Another in-form player in Super League is Dufty, who has been at the heart of most things Warrington have done in attack thus far, scoring eight tries in 11 games to go alongside eight assists. He is also leading the way in Super League for carries with 230 to his name.

Dufty is Super League’s top metre maker of 2024 so far, averaging an impressive 187 per game.
