Love Rugby League brings you the top 10 in the Steve Prescott Man of Steel rankings after the opening eight rounds of Super League action.

Here, Love Rugby League will provide a weekly update to the Steve Prescott Man of Steel leaderboard as and when the points are awarded following a round of matches.

How does the voting system work? Well, a panel of former players determine the winner of the Man of Steel, with points being awarded to the best performing players after each game – three points for the man of the match, two points for the runner-up and one point for the third best player.

Super League Round 10 Man of Steel points

Wigan Warriors 30-8 Catalans Dragons

Wigan’s Harry Smith got his first Man of Steel Points of the year after their win against Catalans, picking up the maximum of three available. Team-mate Junior Nsemba also got another two, while Dragons overseas ace Jayden Nikorima picked up one.

Huddersfield Giants 16-18 Salford Red Devils

The shares of Man of Steel Points are also shared between Huddersfield and Salford. Papua New Guinean Red Devils ace Nene Macdonald gets a maximum after two tries and an assist, while team-mate Ryan Brierley earns two despite a sin-bin. Giants winger Adam Swift added to his try tally yet again, and takes home one.

Warrington Wolves 24-6 Hull FC

The first clean sweep of the week goes to Warrington, with hat-trick hero Josh Thewlis taking a maximum of three Man of Steel Points for his showing as they beat Hull. Team-mates Matt Dufty and George Williams got two and one each awarded to them.

Leeds Rhinos 46-8 London Broncos

After thumping London at Headingley, Leeds also achieve a clean sweep with Lachlan Miller taking three Man of Steel Points, team-mate Andy Ackers picking up two and fellow Rhino Mikolaj Oledzki awarded a single.

Hull KR 40-20 St Helens

There were two games on Saturday, and KR thrashed Saints at Craven Park in the first of those to see three of their stars pick up Man of Steel Points. Mikey Lewis got three assists as well as his own try to pick up three MOS points, while team-mate Dean Hadley got two and Jai Whitbread – who won Man of the Match – getting one.

Leigh Leopards 28-28 Castleford Tigers

Castleford fought from behind to earn a draw at Leigh, with neither side able to win it in 10 minutes of Golden Point action. The Tigers’ recent recruit Tex Hoy shone, and deservedly picked up three MOS points. Edwin Ipape returned with a bang for the Leopards, awarded two points, and team-mate Tom Amone was a powerhouse as usual and earns a single.
