Quins players set for Catalans return

Harlequins Rugby League expect four senior players returning to the squad for Sunday’s game against Catalans Dragons at the Twickenham Stoop (2pm KO).

Three props are expected to be available with Karl Temata ready to return after several months out injured, Danny Ward recovering from illness and Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook back following a one-match suspension.

Full back Ben Jones-Bishop who scored twice in his first Super League game for Harlequins but missed last weekend’s trip to Warrington with a shoulder injury is also available.

Harlequins head coach, Brian McDermott, said: “To say this is a welcome boost ahead of Sunday’s match with Catalans is an understatement.

“We had nearly ten players out last week, many of whom were our regular starters. You cannot play with three or four of your starting 13 missing – never mind over half a dozen of them – and expect to put in your best performance.”

He added: “I’m getting back to the position where I can choose my squad based upon performances rather than just availability which is a huge relief.”
