Warrington winger Joel Monaghan has been given a clean bill of health after he was stretchered off during Saturday’s Grand Final defeat to Wigan.

Monaghan, 31, was knocked out while making a tackle on opposite number Pat Richards, and was treated to on the field for several minutes towards the end of the first half, with the Wolves leading 16-2.

A club statement said: “He suffered heavy concussion and was out for a considerable amount of time.

“Precautionary scans were carried out but Joel was discharged from hospital on Saturday night and given a clean bill of health.”

Before his departure from the field, Monaghan had scored the game’s first try, but the Wolves failed to muster a single point in his absence.
