London Broncos will ground-share with AFC Wimbledon at Plough Lane this season

London Broncos have announced the signing of West Wales Raiders halfback Will Ramsey for the 2022 season.

Ramsey, who can also play at fullback, joined the Raiders ahead of the 2021 season from Australian side Currumbin Eagles. He made 16 appearances for the club, scoring two tries against London Skolars and Keighley Cougars.

He also contributed with four goals during West Wales’ 24-24 draw against Doncaster, where a late Tom Halliday try denied them the win.

Talking to the club website, Ramsey said:“Getting the opportunity to join the broncos is definitely an exciting one and a big step forward for my footy career, I can’t wait to rip in. Being from Australia you definitely hear the name London Broncos as they are a well known club.”

“I remember watching players like Jamie Soward when he came over and played for the Broncos. I always thought it would be sick to get an opportunity like that.”

Head Coach Jermaine Coleman added: Will is such an exciting prospect, he had a good season last year in a team that struggled and caught the eye of plenty of Coaches in the UK.

“I’m really excited to have him with us and to be able to try and continue to develop him as a player.”

Competition for places at London

Ramsey joins fellow halfback Dan Coates in joining the club. Coates joined from Coventry Bears, where he enjoyed a prolific season.

Coates set the record for most number of points scored by a Bears player in a single season, with 147.

There will be stiff competition for places at the club, with Jarrod Sammut still at the Broncos.
