Featherstone have signed half-back Harvey Spence on a one-year deal from Leeds.

The 20-year-old, who featured for and against Rovers in the 2020 pre-season, is a product of the Rhinos academy and played in the 2018 Academy Grand Final against Wigan.

Spence said: “I’m really happy to have signed for Featherstone Rovers next year and I can’t wait to get going.

“It’s been a long time coming and I’m looking forward to starting pre-season and getting back on the training field.

“Having spoken to James Webster (Featherstone coach), I’m excited about next season and ready to work hard and take any opportunity that comes my way in 2021.”

Rovers football manager Steve Gill added: “Harvey is a young half-back who played with us and against us in the pre-season friendlies versus York and Leeds, he is a good talker and organiser with a great kicking game.

“He has come through the Leeds Rhinos academy from an early age and we believe he will develop nicely under the guidance of James Webster and will push both Nu Brown and Dane Chisholm for a place in the first team. He is certainly a welcomed addition to the squad.”
