North Queensland have bolstered their squad ahead of their NRL campaign by signing rookie pairing Joel Reithmuller and Dylan Smith.
Second rower Reithmuller and Smith, a prop, have both signed one-year deals with the Cowboys, after impressing during trials with the club.
Reithmuller, 25 is a product of the Tully junior club and has played for Queensland Cup side Northern Pride, while 20-year-old Smith is a former Toyota Cup player.
Coach Neil Henry says the move is an obvious one after the pair impressed during their training stint at the club.
“They’ve both got a great attitude which has really shown through during their time here so far and I’ve been impressed with what they’ve done on the training paddock,” Henry said.
“As well as that, they performed well in our pre-season games, so awarding them with contracts is the next logical step and it’s an achievement they deserve.”
