Brough substitution just a precaution, says Anderson

Huddersfield coach Paul Anderson expects Danny Brough to be fit for the Easter weekend games against Salford and Widnes.

Brough, 30, has been instrumental in the Giants’ superb start to the season, but left the field early in Friday’s difficult 28-2 defeat to Warrington.

Anderson said: “Brough was taken off as a precaution. He picked up a knock early in the game and stayed out there until the game had slipped away from us.

“When we’d reached that point there seemed no point keeping him out there. If we’d still been in with a chance it would have been a different story.

“We’ve obviously a busy time ahead of us and we want as many of our players available as possible for the Easter period. Broughy is obviously key to us.

“He never likes to come off but in the long-term it was by far the best thing to do.”
