Ben Flower to miss rest of regular season

Wigan prop Ben Flower will miss the rest of the regular campaign after undergoing knee surgery.

The Wales international only returned from a long-term back injury in the 36-18 win over Hull KR last weekend.

But he has since had surgery on his knee to “clean up a bit of cartilage”. He is expected to miss four to six weeks.

Flower could return for the first game of the play-offs if he recovers within four weeks.

Wigan coach Adrian Lam said: “He’s out with a meniscus issue, he needs an arthroscopy so that will be him out for between four and six weeks.”
