Apologies for recent problems

The Love Rugby League team would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused by the server problems of the past week.

We’re equally frustrated and disappointed as you are when situations like this arise due to all the work put in trying to make Love Rugby League as good as it can be.

However, after extensive work and help from our hosting partners, we are now confident that these problems are behind us.

Our Fantasy Rugby League competition has enjoyed unprecedented success, with more than 5000 teams registering, up considerably from last year’s total of around 2300. We believe this is the most popular Fantasy Rugby League competition on the web, and we would like to thank you all for making that happen.

Unfortunately, the sheer volume of people trying to access their team from Friday onwards caused great strain on our server, due to the amount of data being processed.

We had upgraded to a dedicated server over the close season, based on the anticipated growth from last season’s figures, but so far we have far exceeded those predictions.

We upgraded twice over the weekend, but on Monday morning, it appeared that still wasn’t enough, and as such we took a third step to improve processing power, which appears to have worked.

Of course, this came at a significant cost to us. The site is voluntarily run, and we had people working virtually around the clock over the weekend to try and rectify the problems.

When Love Rugby League was launched as a brand, we very much wanted it to become “your” rugby league website, and we are humbled by the response so far in 2012.

If you have had problems with your Fantasy League team, please do email us at james@loverugbyleague.com – we are currently working through a number of emails, and they will all be addressed before the weekend.

Also, if you or your business would like to help support the running of Love Rugby League through advertising, then please get in touch with james@loverugbyleague.com or call 01925 555519.

Thanks for your support and here’s to a great 2012!
