York City Knights have signed Leeds youngster Levi Edwards on a season-long loan.

A product of the Rhinos academy, Edwards was promoted to the first team squad ahead of the 2021 shirt.

Edwards, 18, could make his debut for York City Knights against London Broncos this weekend in the Championship.

The Siddal junior was named man of the match in an academy origin fixture between Yorkshire and Lancashire in 2021.

He had spent time on loan with Batley during 2021, and now links up with York for the 2022 campaign.

York City Knights head coach brings in young talent

York head coach James Ford said: “Levi is another talented young player that we’ve added to our squad. He moves very well and has some outstanding centre skill in his game already.

“We’re all really excited to work with Levi and help him develop and reach the very high standards that he’s capable of.

“Levi can play centre and back-row and provides competition for places in both those positions.”

Championship movement

Leeds have also loaned out pair Jarrod O’Connor and Liam Tindall to Bradford on short-terms.

The duo have been named in their squad to face Batley this weekend.

Championship club London Broncos have signed hooker Amir Bourouh on a two-week loan deal from Super League side Salford Red Devils.

The 21-year-old joined the Red Devils on a two-year deal from Wigan ahead of this season. He has featured in friendlies but has yet to make a first team appearance.

Dewsbury have announced the signing of winger Ben Blackmore for the rest of the 2022 season.

He has most recently been playing for Featherstone in the Championship.

Barrow Raiders have also teased a signing announcement for tonight.
