The World Club Challenge will return to the UK in 2015, the NRL has announced.

Sydney Roosters beat Wigan at the Sydney Football Stadium in February in front of a 31,515 crowd, the first time since 1994 that the annual clash has been held Down Under.

Next year’s game will take place on the weekend of February 21.

It has taken place every year since 2000, with seven wins each for the NRL and Super League.

Australian clubs have won five of the last six titles, although Melbourne’s triumph in 2010 was removed following their breach of the NRL salary cap.
