Workington Town’s all-time record points scorer Carl Forber has re-signed with the club for the 2020 League One season.

He made 24 appearances for the club in the 2019 season, scoring three tries and kicking 101 goals.

He broke Iain MacCorquodale’s record of 1,800 points for Workington after nearly 40 years last season, with a tally of 1,813 points since his arrival at Derwent Park in 2007

“Good quality half-backs are very hard to come by, that’s why it was imperative to retain the services of Carl,” said coach Chris Thorman.

“As well as having all the attributes a top half-back needs, he is easily one of the most coachable players in the squad.

“He is also one of the most selfless members of the squad as he understands the team is more important than the individual.

“His points record for Town speaks for itself and I look forward to coaching him again in 2020.”
