Warrington linked with Myler move

Warrington are the latest Super League club to be linked with a move for Salford scrum half Richard Myler.

It is believed Tony Smith is lining up an end-of-season move for the youngster, who came through the ranks at local rivals Widnes.

Myler, who made his international debut last autumn, has already been linked with a move to Wigan which prompted Salford to issue a hands off warning.

Salford are yet to offer Myler an improved contract and Warrington are looking to test their resolve with a big-money offer.

Last week, Reds’ football director Steve Simms said: “Myler is on contract with us and he isn’t for sale to anyone. I’ve certainly had no approach from Wigan and we want to extend his time with us beyond when his current contract runs out in 18 months time.

“Why would Wigan want Myler when they have such high hopes for Sam Tomkins?

“There’s nothing in it but we need to put the record straight.”
