Toulouse sign prolific centre Latrell Schaumkel from Villeneuve

Toulouse have signed Kiwi centre Latrell Schaumkel from French Elite Championship side Villeneuve.

Schaumkel, 26, was a junior at Manly Sea Eagles and is a Niue international.

He said: “I would like to thank Toulouse Olympique for giving me the opportunity to continue the development of my sports career. I am very excited and looking forward to joining the Club.”

The powerful outside back scored 13 tries in 11 games in the French league before it was brought to a premature conclusion due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Club president Bernard Sarrazain added: “Latrell is lively, fast, powerful and has fiery support. He is a formidable finisher who will make us even more dangerous offensively. In addition, its versatility allows us to cover all positions behind.”
