Swinton Lions have announced halfback Jack Hansen has signed a new deal for the 2022 season.

Hansen, who has spent the last four seasons at Heywood Road, has been a key player for the Lions and has made 81 appearances so far for the club.

He will hope to lead the charge as Swinton hope to return to the Championship.

On his new deal, Hansen said: “I am really excited to have resigned with this club again, I feel we can create something special with the group that has been put together.

“I am also looking forward to having both a full preseason and a playing season under Allan, who I think can take my game to that next level.

“I am definitely ready for a big 2022, and to getting this club back into the Championship where it belongs.”

Swinton Head Coach Allan Coleman added: “I am absolutely made up that we have got Jack signed again, especially as he was a target for a lot of clubs both in our league and the league above.

“I have worked with Jack now for the last three years and he is a fabulous player. He is always wanting to improve, and he will play a big part in what we want to achieve next season.”

Welcome halfback reinforcement for Swinton

Following the departure of Martyn Ridyard to Oldham, keeping Hansen will be a real boost for the Lions. They have also signed Widnes Vikings halfback Lewis Else recently, who could well be his partner in 2022.
