Super League announce 25% increase in Magic Weekend ticket sales

Super League have confirmed they have sold 25% more tickets for this year’s Magic Weekend in Newcastle than what they did last year in Liverpool.

Super League chief commercial officer Rhodri Jones confirmed the 25% increase when it was announced that Newcastle Thunder will kick-off 2020 Magic Weekend with a League 1 clash against Doncaster.

Thunder’s match against the Dons will get underway at 12:30pm on May 23, with the six Super League matches being played over the same weekend at St James’ Park.

Jones said: “Super League knows how passionate sports fans are in the north east, so we’re looking forward to seeing the region get behind the event when we return to St James’ Park this year.

“Ticket sales are already 25% up on 2019 and the inclusion of Newcastle Thunder means there is even more for the fans to get behind.”
