It’s time for Love Rugby League’s Sunday Social, your alternative recap of the serious and not so serious talking points from the past seven days.

Melbourne’s Ryan Papenhuyzen scored FOUR tries in the space of 11 first half minutes to help the Storm record an emphatic 40-6 victory against Brisbane Broncos. The 22-year-old full-back added a further 10 points from the boot.

David Fifita with some quite outstanding determination to crash over for Wakefield’s opening score against Wigan. It proved to be in vain as Trinity conceded 34 unanswered points either side of half-time.

Warriors second-rower John Bateman confirmed after the match that his match-worn boots will be auctioned off to raise money for Mose Masoe and his family. Round two of Super League has been dedicated to the Samoan following his career-ending injury in January 2020.

New Zealand international Benji Marshall, 36,  rolled back the years with an inch-perfect kick to set up team-mate Latrell Mitchell in South Sydney’s 38-0 rout of the Canterbury Bulldogs.

York winger Ben Jones-Bishop with the afterburners to leave a cluster of Toulouse defenders in his wake. Despite his impressive solo score, the Knights still ended up on the losing side in their first league match at the LNER Community Stadium.

And finally, Warrington bounced back from round one disappointment against Castleford with an eight-try victory over Leigh. Winger Tom Lineham opened the scoring with a trademark dive for the corner.
