Sonny Bill Williams to make his return for Sydney Roosters this week

Sonny Bill Williams is officially set to make his return for Sydney Roosters against Canberra this Saturday.

The 35-year-old linked up with the Roosters after Toronto Wolfpack’s decision to withdraw from the rest of the 2020 Super League season.

Williams has joined the Roosters for the rest of the season as he aims to help Trent Robinson’s side become the first team since Parramatta in 1981-83 to win three Premierships on the bounce.

Robinson has included Williams in his 21-man squad for Saturday’s clash with Canberra at GIO Stadium.

Williams, who is a dual-code New Zealand international, has been named on the interchange bench and is set to make his first appearance for the Roosters since 2014.

English quartet George Williams, Ryan Sutton, John Bateman and Elliott Whitehead have been named in the Raiders line-up for Saturday’s match.
