Kieran Sherratt and James Guertjens have re-signed with Coventry Bears for the 2018 campaign.

Sherratt came through the Wigan Warriors Academy and was part of their side that were triumphant in the 2015 Academy Grand Final victory.

The versatile forward is also a former England Academy international while Guertjens will enter his fourth year with the club next season.

And Bears head coach Tom Tsang is delighted to have secured the services for the pair for next year.

He said: “Kieran is another important re-signing for us. He was regularly a stand-out player for us last season and was a consistently high performer in training as well as games.

“As loose forward or second-row, he was crucial to our defensive system and so his retention will aide our consistency in that area in 2018.

“James was the first player we signed in 2015 and has knocked over 50 appearances for the club in that time so it’s fantastic that he has agreed to another year at the club.

“As one of the older members of the group, Gurcho will continue to play a vital role in mentoring some of our younger players and leading by example in all areas.”
