Salford have signed ex-Hull FC forward Jansin Turgut for the remainder of the season.

The 22-year-old came through the ranks at Hull FC and went on to make 30 appearances for the club since making his debut in 2015.

Turgut has spent time on loan at Featherstone Rovers and Doncaster this year but will now try to help the Red Devils avoid relegation this season.

On signing the back-rower, Salford coach Ian Watson said: “We were looking for an outside back and Jansin’s name came up and he’s played a little bit of centre as well as second-row which adds some utility value to our squad.

“He’s backed himself to come down here and prove his Super League credentials as he’s on the lookout for a new club next year.

“He’s a former England Academy captain which indicates he has leadership qualities and one thing that has always impressed me about Jansin is his work ethic which is key in our environment.

“He always runs his blood to water, never lets his team-mates down and it’s great we’ve been able to bring some young hungry lads into our squad. Hopefully we can integrate him into our systems and plays quickly and he can put in some top performances for Salford.”
