Hunslet have confirmed that Rob Roberts has joined the club’s coaching staff for the 2017 season.

Club director of rugby Darren Williams is delighted to have added the experienced coach to his ranks.

“‘Two Bobs’ was looking to get his first step on the coaching ladder and he’s an ex Hunslet player, lives locally and knows a lot of the young players here at the club already,” he said.

“He’s played under Steve Deakin & Mark Cass at Oldham and is a former team mate of James Coyle so it’s a really good fit and an extra pair of hands as our pre-season programme intensifies.”

Hunslet have also confirmed that Austin Bell and Matthew Tebb have rejoined the club for 2017.

Both left in 2016, with Bell struggling to commute from Hull, and Tebb returning to the community game to prove his fitness after a bad run of injuries over the last two years.

Brooke Broughton, Jose Kenga, Danny Thomas, Danny Williams and Aston Wilson have also signed one-year deals at the south Leeds club.
