Johnathon Ford sets sights on Super League

Former Toulouse captain Johnathon Ford has his sights set on a move back to England with the Super League. (Examiner Live)

Ford told Rugby League Live: “I’m definitely open to the prospect of moving to England and would love to play in Super League.

“There are a lot of moving parts which would depend on me coming back, but I’ve been training since I got back to Australia a couple of weeks ago and I’m feeling good.”

Jordan Lilley return

Lilley is yet to feature in the 2022 season after picking up an injury during pre-season.

He could make his first appearance against Batley next weekend.

Adrian Lam success in second attempt to land Inu

Leigh boss Adrian Lam was over the moon to finally secure the services of Krisnan Inu after previously trying to sign him whilst he was Wigan coach.

The 34-year-old goal-kicking centre had been playing in France for Lezignan since leaving Super League side Salford at the end of last season.

Inu has made more than 250 career appearances for Parramatta, New Zealand Warriors, Canterbury, Catalans, Widnes, Salford and Lezignan. He has represented New Zealand and Samoa internationally.

Melbourne Storm half-back injury

Melbourne Storm have confirmed an injury to half-back Cooper Johns.

Johns, 22, made his debut in 2020 against Parramatta.

Challenge Cup fifth round draw

The draw for the fifth round of the Challenge Cup has been made.

North Wales Crusaders, the only League 1 team remaining in the Challenge Cup, were drawn at home to Sheffield Eagles. The latter were the famous winners from 1998, when they shocked favourites Wigan at Wembley.

Leigh secured the 10th and last place in the fifth round with a big 38-4 win over Widnes, face a trip to Odsal to face Bradford in the standout tie of the round.
