He beat competition from Jai Field (Wigan) Tony Gigot (Toulouse), Mason Lino (Wakefield Trinity), Joe Westerman (Castleford), and Mike McMeeken (Catalans).

Huddersfield forward Chris Hill believes Giants coach Ian Watson is an unsung hero, and is worthy of a big Head Coaching role in the NRL.

He told Love Rugby League: He’s a coach that might always go under the radar but I hope he doesn’t. Whether it is here or over in the NRL I would love to see him have a gig over there.”
