Parker injury blow for Leigh

Leigh are set to be without prop Rob Parker for the rest of the season with a finger injury.

Parker, 30, will miss Friday’s Championship clash against Halifax on Friday, joining John Duffy and Michael Ostick on the sidelines following last week’s 26-0 win at Keighley.

Head Coach Paul Rowley said: “Rob’s having an operation on his finger on Friday, and that’s probably his season done.

“It’s a big blow for us. We’ll be lucky if we get another game out of him this year.”

A win over Halifax could lift Leigh up to third in the table, and the Centurions have beaten their Yorkshire opponents three times already this term.

Duffy’s absence means he misses out on the chance to make his 200th appearance for the club.
