One stays, two go at Dewsbury

Dewsbury forward Martyn Reilly has signed a new deal, while assistants Gareth Greenwood and Rikki Sheriffe have departed the club.

Reilly, 23, has signed a deal with the Rams for the 2020 season.

He said: “The club has been massive for me and it will be my third season here.

“I missed the back end of the first year, and the first half of last season. However, the club stood by me and Mark [Sawyer, chairman] looked after me and sort of pulled me in.

“He put an arm around my shoulder and said he liked the look of me and what he’d seen. He said the club was going to keep me on board and help me through my recovery.

“To be honest it was an easy decision for my I had no thought of going anywhere else.”

Assistant coaches Gareth Greenwood and Sheriffe have left the Rams with immediate effect.

Dewsbury head coach Lee Greenwood said: “I’d like to thank Gareth and Rikki for their hard work during what has been a challenging year.

“They both have bright futures in their coaching careers should they choose to continue in the game.”
