Championship round-up: Toronto make Grand Final & Featherstone face Toulouse trip

Championship rugby league was at its absolute best at the weekend.

Toronto Wolfpack have made the Championship Grand Final after beating Toulouse Olympique 40-24 in the Championship qualifying semi-final.

Centre Ricky Leutele scored a hat-trick in front of a crowd of 9,325 at the Lamport Stadium, with the Canadian club securing a second successive appearances in the Million Pound Game.

Joe Mellor (2), Josh McCrone, Liam Kay and Chase Stanley also scored for the Wolfpack.

Featherstone Rovers will travel to Toulouse next Sunday after they eased past York City Knights 30-4 at Bootham Crescent.

Makahesi Makatoa, James Harrison, Brad Day, Jack Johnson and Jack Render got on the scoresheet for Ryan Carr’s Rovers.

Toronto have a week off, while the winner of Toulouse-Featherstone will travel to Canada the following week.
