Prop Ryan O’Hara has been appointed as the captain of Crusaders Rugby League.

He will lead the team out first this Friday when Wales‘ only engage Super League side take on Leeds Rhinos in their opening game of the season this Friday at The Racecourse in Wrexham (kick-off 8pm).

He made his first official appearance as club captain at the official Super League launch on Monday in London and enjoyed the experience.

“It was a really good day. It’s always good to put yourself out there and represent the team.” he said. “I did plenty of interviews for TV, radio and the papers. Everyone wanted to know about how things were going in Wrexham and know about the team itself.”

It’s been almost five months since Crusaders’ last game and O’Hara, last year’s club Player of the Year, is looking forward to getting back into action.

“I can’t wait,” he said. “It’s been a long and difficult pre-season with plenty of changes. But we’ve been trained well and we’re now looking forward to getting out onto the park and playing some footy.”
