Brisbane remain unbeaten after picking off early-season NRL favourites the New Zealand Warriors with a superb 26-10 at Mount Smart Stadium.

Former Penrith forward Joel Clinton grabbed the first try for the Broncos taking advantage of a neat Peter Wallace grubber. Wallace was involved for his side’s second score, finding Steve Michaels in space to race over.

A third Brisbane try came on half-time when man-mountain Dave Taylor raced through the Warriors’ defence before feeding Israel Folau, who beat former Bronco Denan Kemp to the line.

Two more scores from the visitors effectivley killed off the game with Alex Glenn hitting a hole from a Darren Lockyer pass, while the test captain himself got the next score, with a try under the posts.

The Warriors added consolation scores through Simon Mannering and Ukuma Ta’ai after good work by the forwards although their NRL title hopes took a severe blow with Brent Tate suffering a season ending knee injury.
