Championship side Newcastle Thunder have made three loan signings – two coming from Super League side Wakefield and one from Featherstone.

Forward Field, 24, has been 38 appearances for Featherstone since joining the club in 2021 from Leigh. He came through the ranks at Wigan, playing 10 games between 2017-18.

Nigeria international prop Sadiq Adebiyi and Jack Croft move to the north east from Wakefield. Adebiyi joined Trinity ahead of this season on a one-year deal from London Broncos.

Centre Croft, 21, has made 10 first team appearances for Wakefield. He has had loan spells with Oldham and Bradford.

Thunder director of rugby Denis Betts said: “We’re delighted to welcome Callum, Sid and Jack to the club on loan. They are three quality players, and they are going to add to our group.

“We’ve been hit by some injuries of late and have also had players leave us for whom our full-time set-up turned out to not be for them and all of this has had an impact on our small squad.

“Bringing these boys in on loan will allow us to navigate those challenges but also gives us the opportunity to showcase the club, what we are about and what we can offer to players which helps when we are looking to recruit additions to our squad.

“We’re looking forward to working with the players and for their time with us to be beneficial for everybody.”

The trio could make their debuts for Thunder in this weekend’s Championship clash with Halifax.

Newcastle went full-time ahead of this season. Eamon O’Carroll’s side have endured a mixed start to the season though, having won just four from nine in the Championship.
