Manly Sea Eagles full-back Tom Trbojevic suffers knee injury

Manly Sea Eagles full-back Tom Trbojevic has suffered a knee injury following their 25-6 victory over Canberra Raiders.

Scans confirmed that the 25-year-old has suffered a medial tear and will now undergo surgery. He is set to be sidelined for at least a month (four weeks).

His Sea Eagles side currently sit 10th in the NRL ladder, claiming two wins out of four so far in 2022.

The club confirmed the news, stating: “Manly Warringah Sea Eagles fullback Tom Trbojevic underwent scans today for a knee injury following Saturday’s match in Mudgee.”

Team-mates Dylan Walker and Josh Schuster are also currently recovering from injuries.

Injuries in the NRL

North Queensland Cowboys full-back Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow suffered a PCL tear in their defeat to the Sydney Roosters. The 20-year-old is set to be sidelined for the next two-to-three weeks.

The Broncos have suffered a double blow with both Pat Carrigan and Albert Kelly sidelined for lengthy stints. The latter is currently being investigated following a leaked altercation video with team-mate Payne Haas. The former Hull half-back has been sidelined due to a foot injury. 

Shaun Lane was a late withdrawal for Parramatta Eels in their clash against St George Illawarra Dragons. He was replaced by Bryce Cartwright. Lane, 27, is expected to be short-term.

Tyson Frizell left the field during his 200th NRL appearance against Cronulla Sharks. It has been reported that the back-rower is set to be sent for scans.

South Sydney Rabbitohs forward Mark Nicholls left the field in the opening two minutes during his side’s clash with Penrith Panthers.

Canberra Raiders half-back Jamal Fogarty continues to be sidelined due to injury.

Scans revealed a blow to his knee following the club’s pre-season trial against the Sea Eagles. The Raiders are also currently without Josh Hodgson (season), Harley Smith-Shields (season) and Sebastian Kris (round five).
