Leigh have reduced ticket prices in the seating areas of the ground to move in line with the regular price in the terraced north stand.

It was pointed out by away fans recently that they had no option but to pay the higher price of £25 for the south or west stands.

The lower price of £23 was only available in the terraced north stand, which is the most popular area for home fans.

In a statement, Leigh said: “The Board of Directors have reviewed the ticketing pricing in line with some observations made by spectators.

“When undertaking the review, the board did consider that visiting spectators do not have the opportunity of a £23 ticket which is available to home spectators.

“This further led the board to consider that some spectators who are unable to stand for the duration of the game are therefore left with no alternative other than to purchase the higher priced ticket.

“Having considered this situation, the board no longer believes there should be a price difference between the North Stand and other stands in the stadium.”

Match day pricing ongoing will now be £23 for adults, £17 for concessions, £7 for 12-17 year olds and £5 for 5-11 year olds.

Credit notes are being issued to any season ticket holders that had purchased season tickets based on the previous prices.

Challenge Cup clash on Monday night

Meanwhile, the Centurions have also agreed to reduce the prices for Monday night’s Challenge Cup tie against Widnes.

The game will be televised live on Premier Sports.

Tickets are now priced at £20 for adults, £15 for concessions, £6 for 12-17 year olds and £4.35 for 5-11 year olds.

A one minute’s silence will take place prior to the game in tribute of club legend Des Drummond.

Both teams will wear black armbands, and Leigh will warm up in a specially designed tribute shirt.

At the start of the second minute of the game, a tribute to Drummond will be played on the LED perimeter baords in the ground.

The club is requesting all spectators pay their respects by applauding for the two-minute duration of that tribute.
