Leeds Rhinos linked with rival Super League forward for 2024
Leeds Rhinos are expected to bolster their forward pack for the 2024 campaign under head coach Rohan Smith, with one name freshly linked to the club.
Rising young forward Sam Walters is expected to depart the side after rejecting a contract extension at Headingley Stadium, while winger Liam Tindall is also set to leave.
Australian coach Smith, 42, has previously confirmed that some deals have been made for next season, with one target reported by L’Independant.
The French paper has linked the Rhinos with French international and Catalans forward Mickael Goudemand.
The 27-year-old is off contract at the end of the year, having signed his first contract in October 2018, before extending his stay with the club until the end of 2023.
However, it has been reported that the 12-capped France international is set for a Super League move to Leeds for next season, having rejected a new extension in Perpignan.
Mickael Goudemand linked with Leeds Rhinos
Goudemand has made 86 Super League appearances to date, and played in the 2018 Challenge Cup victory over Warrington at Wembley in 2018.
He featured from the interchange bench during the 2021 Grand Final defeat to St Helens at Old Trafford, the club’s first appearance at the Theatre of Dreams.
The forward would join international team-mate Justin Sangare at Headingley Stadium if the move was to be confirmed.
The 25-year-old has impressed in his debut campaign so far, having joined on a two-year deal from Toulouse following their relegation from Super League.
He has made 15 appearances for the Rhinos so far, scoring one try, as well as three caps for France on the international stage.
