Leeds Rhinos have signed Wakefield prop forward Yusuf Aydin on a two-week loan ahead of their trip to Toulouse in Super League.

Aydin, 21, has made six appearances in Super League so far this season. He has made a total of 19, having made his debut in 2020 against Hull.

The forward came through the scholarship and academy ranks at Wakefield. He has also spent time with York City Knights and Sheffield Eagles in the Championship on loan.

Rohan Smith’s Leeds Rhinos are without front rowers Matt Prior, Zane Tetevano, Tom Holroyd and Muizz Mustapha through suspension.

The Turkey international could make his debut for the club in France this weekend against Toulouse Olympique in Round 19.

‘Hopefully I can impress Rohan Smith’

Aydin said: “The lads have been great in welcoming me into the Rhinos camp. I am looking forward to the challenge.

“Hopefully I can impress Rohan Smith and get some minutes under my belt. There is an opportunity for me here and I will be doing everything I can to make the most of it.

“I have experience of joining teams on loan having gone to Sheffield and York in recent years so it doesn’t daunt me coming into a team and getting to know a new set of lads and hopefully I can help the Rhinos as well.”
