The Rugby Football League’s match review panel have dished out bans to eight players following Super League’s Magic Weekend in Newcastle.

Wigan prop Brad Singleton has been handed a three-match ban after he was sent off for a Grade C high tackle on Curtis Sironen in their 20-18 loss to St Helens. The Ireland international will miss Wigan’s upcoming games against Hull, Leeds and Hull KR.

St Helens forward Sione Mata’utia will miss their clash with Huddersfield on Friday after being given a one-match ban for a Grade A late hit on the passer.

In the Hull derby, FC centre Connor Wynne and KR forward Dean Hadley have been given one-match bans for Grade B late hits on the passer.

There were two bans handed out following the West Yorkshire derby between Leeds and Castleford. Rhinos prop Matt Prior has been given two matches for a Grade B late hit on the kicker. Tigers prop Liam Watts will miss the next two game for a Grade B high tackle.

In the bottom of the table clash between Wakefield and Toulouse, Trinity forward Rob Butler has been handed a two-match ban for a Grade C dangerous throw which resulted in him being sent to the sin bin at the time.

Salford’s Sitaleki Akauola has been handed a two-match suspension for a Grade B intentional trip.

  1. If these fouls were committed by a championship player most of them would have been straight red cards and most probably cost the game. The same rules should apply across the board. I have seen blatant wrong and biased decisions go against Whitehaven just because the crowd get on the referee’s back and its all wrong.
