League 1 round-up: York edge Workington, Miloudi shines for Doncaster, Crusaders win Welsh derby

There were several big scorelines in League 1 on the weekend.

Ethan Ryan and Tuoyo Egodo both scored hat-tricks to help Bradford Bulls ease past rivals Keighley Cougars with a 54-4 win at Odsal. The Cougars were dealt a blow when Brendon Rawlins was sent-off in the first half.

Oldham ran in 10 tries to comfortably dispatch Coventry Bears 58-6 at the Vestacare Stadium. Jack Holmes, Danny Langtree and Matty Wilkinson scored two tries each for the Roughyeds.

York City Knights took a step towards promotion with a hard-fought 18-14 victory over Workington Town at Derwent Park. Ash Robson, Connor Robinson and Joe Batchelor all crossed the whitewash for the Knights.

Hull FC star Hakim Miloudi put in a man of the match performance to help Doncaster beat Newcastle Thunder 38-21 at the Keepmoat Stadium. Newcastle forward Harry Aldous was sent-off late on for punching.

Hunslet comfortably beat London Skolars 48-12 at South Leeds Stadium on Sunday. Ryan Wright scored two for Hunslet but was sin-binned in the second half for tripping.

North Wales Crusaders kept their opponents scoreless for the second game in a row with a 66-0 win over West Wales Raiders in the Welsh derby. Brad Walker featured for Crusaders on dual-registration from Widnes Vikings and he scored a try as well as kicking three goals. Lewis Fairhurst scored two tries and kicked six goals.

Whitehaven scored 34 unanswered points in the second half to complete a solid 50-13 win over Hemel Stags at Pennine Way. Haven’s player-coach Carl Forster crossed for a hat-trick and was the man of the match.

York remain top of the League 1 table, while Bradford, Doncaster, Workington and Oldham are currently sitting in the top five.
