Lancaster joins York on trial

York City Knights have signed former Hull FC and England Academy player Callum Lancaster on a month long trial, with a view to a permanent deal.

Lancaster burst on the scene back in 2014 with back-to-back hat-tricks against Widnes and Warrington.

The winger bagged 19 tries in an impressive season for Hull’s reserve grade in 2016, but after limited opportunities this season felt a move away from Humberside could reignite his career.

Head Coach James Ford told the club’s official website: “I’m pleased to bring a player with Callum’s potential to the club, and it’s another indication of our ambition.

“Callum has incredible pace and if he’s willing to work hard at a few areas of his game I’m sure we’ll see him fulfil his potential.”
