Koukash backs new Bradford

Salford owner Marwan Koukash says the RFL made the right decision in approving Andrew Chalmers and Graeme Lowe taking over the Bradford Bulls.

Chalmers previously served as a director at Salford.

Koukash had previously been linked to Bradford through a reported bid for the club through his wife.

The Red Devils chairman believes the two New Zealanders can restore Bradford back to the top.

“It’s fantastic, I really believe the RFL have made the right decision,” Koukas told Love Rugby League.

“When you look at the other consortiums, especially the ones claiming they were going to sign Todd carney but nobody else had a chance with Todd carney.

“He was only coming to Salford if he was coming back to England, so he wasn’t going to be playing for Bradford, so you start doubting the credibility of the bidders.

“I think the RFL made the right decision giving the club to Graeme Lowe and Andrew Chalmers.

“I’ve known them for five or six years, I’ve known them even before I took over salford, they are both hard-working and very committed to the cause and to rugby league.

“I’m sure it’s going to take time and the club in years to come we will see them back to its final glory.”
